Lawrence Duncan, 58, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Cleveland, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008.

A graveside service was held Tuesday at Young Ladies Benevolent Cemetery in Raceland.

He is survived by one daughter, Lolita Jacquline Duncan of Cleveland; his father, Louis Fletcher of Thibodaux; one brother, Louis Duncan of North Carolina; seven sisters, Priscilla Fletcher, Christina A. Kennedy, Beverly Azema, Regina Miller, Rosemary Fletcher and Betty W. Daniels, all of Thibodaux, and Jacquline Washington of Houma; his caretaker, Lillie Mae Duncan; his grandmother, Ceola Fletcher of Thibodaux; and numerous relatives.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Duncan; one brother, Walter Lee Fletcher; one sister, Doris Azema; and his grandparents, Olivia Frank, Ed Fletcher and Celestine Duncan.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was Baptist.

Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.


Family, please pray for Louis Fletcher & Family. Everyone who
had a relationship with Lawrence is in pain over his sudden
passing. He will be missed... Remember his smile and his
conversations, he loved his family, because he had a big
heart. Those of you who spent time with him for the family
reunion, I know he enjoyed himself with some of his crazy
